Michael Woods
MICHAEL WOODS
ASSOCIATE
Michael Woods, a lifelong Santa Fe resident, joined the firm after graduating summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law. He works with clients ranging from authors and artists to Fortune 100 companies in matters related to intellectual property and commercial litigation. His transactional work includes preparing entertainment and licensing contracts as well as trademark registrations.
Michael took a yearlong sabbatical from the firm to work as a law clerk for the Honorable Shammara Henderson at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. There, he worked closely with Judge Henderson and other judges to research, analyze, and draft opinions regarding all areas of civil and criminal law. Michael's clerkship provided him significant insights into New Mexico's courts and complex cases that he continues to use to the benefit of each of his clients.
Before joining the firm, Michael worked as a research assistant for Professor John Kang, focusing on the First Amendment freedom of speech. He also worked in the Federal District of Colorado under Judge Kristen Mix, where he focused on cases involving contract litigation.
In anticipation of pursuing a career in law, Michael studied applied mathematics in college, focusing on differential equations and advanced calculus. Growing up on the north side of Santa Fe, Michael spent time riding horses and working cattle, and still does so in his free time today.
